North Chicago Community High School Class of 1976 to Celebrate 50th Class Reunion
The North Chicago Community High School Class of 1976 is celebrating an extraordinary milestone—their 50th Class Reunion!
To commemorate this event, Mayor Leon Rockingham, Jr. issued a Mayoral Proclamation on behalf of the City Council and the residents of North Chicago, to congratulate and honor the NCCHS Class of 1976 and wish the classmates a memorable celebration filled with laughter, fellowship, and reflection.
The Class of 1976 graduated during a historic year in our nation, as the United States celebrated its Bicentennial—200 years of American independence—with communities across the country commemorating our history under the colors of red, white, and blue.
During the five decades since receiving their diplomas, members of the Class of 1976 have become parents, grandparents, professionals, entrepreneurs, educators, public servants, members of the Armed Forces, community leaders, people of faith, mentors, volunteers, and advocates, contributing their talents and service to North Chicago and communities throughout the nation; and
Under the leadership of Class President Cynthia Alexander Jackson, the Class of 1976 has maintained the bonds of friendship and fellowship that began during their years at North Chicago Community High School and now classmates return to celebrate the people, places, memories, and experiences that shaped their lives.
“A 50th Class Reunion represents far more than the passage of time; it is an opportunity to celebrate lifelong friendships, remember classmates who are no longer with us, honor teachers and families who helped guide the Class, and give thanks for the blessing of gathering together once again,” Mayor Rockingham stated in the Proclamation.
“The City of North Chicago takes special pride in welcoming home the members of the Class of 1976 and recognizing their enduring connection to the community where so many of their stories began. We wish the Class of 1976 continued health, happiness friendship, and success in the years ahead,” he added.
