Statement Regarding Last Evening’s Storm and Cleanup Efforts
The City of North Chicago experienced significant weather impacts from last evening’s storm, including heavy rainfall, strong winds, localized flooding, and scattered debris throughout the community. City crews worked throughout the evening and into the early morning hours to assess conditions, clear roadways, address drainage concerns, and respond to service requests.
We would like to thank our Public Works Department, Police Department, Fire Department, and emergency response personnel for their dedication and rapid response efforts. Their work helped ensure public safety and restore normal operations as quickly as possible.
Cleanup and assessment activities will continue over the coming days as crews remove storm debris, inspect infrastructure, and address any remaining issues. Residents are encouraged to use caution when traveling, avoid downed utility lines, and report storm-related concerns to the appropriate city department.
The City also extends its appreciation to our residents for their patience and cooperation during and after the storm. North Chicago has a long tradition of resilience, and once again our community has come together to support one another during challenging circumstances.
Additional updates will be provided as necessary. The City remains committed to restoring all affected areas and ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents.
Questions, concerns, or issues can be reported to the City by calling Flor Porcayo at (847)596-8635 until Friday at 5:00p.m. Call 911 with any emergencies.
